Adopted by the Lear family, Frank Dunn grows up in a loving home, marries his college sweetheart, and starts a family. However, everything changes when his adoptive parents reunite with their biological son, Tim Lear. Outwardly humble, Tim secretly frames Frank to secure the family inheritance. Despite Frank’s efforts to prove his innocence, his adoptive father sides with Tim, while his mother and sisters turn against him, seeing him as a thief of Tim’s rightful life. Though mistreated, Frank stays to repay the Lears, even rejecting his biological parents’ offer to return. But on Tim’s birthday, Tim orchestrates a fatal car accident, leaving Frank’s body abandoned. In his final moments, Frank realizes Tim was behind his suffering—but as darkness consumes him, he opens his eyes again, back on the day his wife tragically died.
