Zed Bass and Vera Lott have been inseparable childhood friends for 20 years, and over time, their bond blossomed into a romance. During their sweet journey together, they made a promise to get engaged on Zed’s 25th birthday. Confident in their love, Zed eagerly proposes to Vera on that day, certain she will say yes. However, to his shock, Vera is seen posing for photos with her schoolmate, Carl Hume, in a way that suggests they are a couple. What stings even more is that Vera doesn’t realize the gravity of her actions. Time and again, she sides with Carl, pushing Zed to compromise and accept her decisions. Despite Zed’s efforts to make things work, Vera’s repeated failures to prioritize their relationship push him further away. Ultimately, Zed, heartbroken and disillusioned, leaves for an overseas job, leaving behind a breakup letter.
